How GoGeoGo started
According to our co-founder Tim, the idea for GoGeoGo was born on Rhodes on the beach. The first version of GoGeoGo was created the same evening with candlelight and loud air conditioning, which was maintained by a rattling diesel generator.
The central idea was that the geo-sectors were not really represented on the large and central job platforms. As a geojob, we define a job that has a clear spatial relationship, whether that is an urban planning, environmental engineering, GIS analysis or hydrology job. Many graduates, trainees and specialists in these industries find it difficult to find attractive jobs.
However, the geo-sectors are at the forefront of digitization, urban planning, climate change and the energy transition - and are therefore particularly affected by the shortage of skilled workers.
Within a few months, the spark of enthusiasm spread to Philipp and the first commercial version then went online in August 2023. Since then, we have worked tirelessly to connect private and public employers in the geo-sector with qualified specialists and to bring the best jobs for job seekers to our platform.
