To coordinate and design development processes, the district of Dithmarschen is looking for a full-time specialist in the field of regional development.

This is a permanent, full-time position. This is shown according to grade 11 (TVöD). In principle, it is divisible.

The Regional Development Division is responsible for rural development to improve living and working conditions in the Dithmarschen district. This includes the initiation and coordination of regional and supra-regional development processes, the implementation of the climate protection concept, the implementation of regional projects and the advice of municipalities belonging to the district on development issues (including settlement development, social and technical infrastructure and services of general interest).

The district of Dithmarschen is currently facing very dynamic development. The transformation of energy supply and energy use in Germany from predominantly fossil fuels to renewable energies is accompanied by massive investments that provide impetus for growth and employment.

As a “100% ee plus region”, the district of Dithmarschen has been committed to climate protection and renewable energy for many years. For example, the district of Dithmarschen produces significantly more electricity from wind power, biomass and photovoltaics than is required in the region. Overall, the district of Dithmarschen offers ideal settlement conditions for anyone who relies on climate-neutral energy for production, further processing, distribution or storage. As a member of the Energy Coast, a strong network of economic development agencies, research, associations and municipalities, the district of Dithmarschen is committed to networking people, initiatives and projects and to show how the energy system of the future is created. The energy coast on the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein is a pioneering region for renewable energy in Germany.

In addition to the major settlement projects currently pending, further settlements and a further acceleration of positive development for the Dithmarschen district are therefore expected in the next few years. The associated challenges also offer great opportunities for the structural development of the district as a whole.

The field of activity comprises the following focal areas

• Support for the preparation and implementation of the Dithmarschen Regional Development Plan (REK) 2030
• initiating and coordinating the development and implementation processes arising from REK 2030 within and outside the administration (in particular housing development),
• Networking of relevant actors in the development process
• Participation in cooperation with municipalities belonging to the district and neighboring districts (e.g. West Coast Regional Cooperation, Energy Coast, Hamburg Metropolitan Region, Heide Region, Government Development Concepts)
• Performing an interface with other development processes such as regional marketing, space management and digitization
• Regular communication about the progress of the development process within and outside the administration

They have

• a technical college or university degree (diploma or bachelor/master) with a focus on spatial sciences (geography, urban and regional planning, spatial planning) or economics

or

• about a comparable professional and personal qualification for the performance of tasks

and

• Class B driving license
• very good spoken and written knowledge of the German language
