Geodata Expert in the Service Sector (m/f/d)

We are that Federal Office for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG). As a federal geodata service provider, we provide federal institutions, such as the Federal Police or Technical Relief Agency, with highly up-to-date geodata and, with our approximately 390 employees, make an important contribution to overcoming the enormous challenges in the areas of environment, climate, security, transport and spatial planning and are constantly driving forward geodigitization within the federal government.

Your area of responsibility:

• Advice on geodata, geodata services and BKG applications
• Collaboration in customer and demand management
• Cooperation with BKG teams that manage and provide our geodata and online services
• Support in the area of public relations, including at trade fairs and events

You bring with you:

• Completed degree (FH/Bachelor) in the Field of Cartography, Geoinformation Management or a Comparable Degree Program
• Professional experience in the area of responsibility is desirable
• Good Knowledge of Geodata (Data Content and Structures as Well as Research Options) is an advantage
• Experience working with GIS (e.g. ArcGIS or QGIS)
• Very good oral and written language skills in the German language as well as excellent skills in communicating with customers and explaining products
• Good team spirit and targeted work organization
• Independent, structured way of working and flexibility in the performance of tasks
• Good written and spoken English skills
• Willingness to travel occasionally
