With a Focus on Application Research and Application Development (f/m/d)

The development and implementation of future-oriented diverse energy systems are centrally determined by spatial structural developments, social trends and digital transformation. There is great potential here to develop interactive and dynamic planning tools through digital technologies (focus on geoinformation/data science/computer science) and analysis methods. In the iSpace Research Studio, you will develop innovative planning tools using web-based analysis frameworks/dashboards. An essential aspect of her research and application development is the technical development of databases and applications for spatial energy planning (energy atlas), taking into account the sector coupling of electricity, heat and mobility.

This is your profile:

• Master/diploma degree in a relevant subject (e.g. /Geoinformatics/Data Science/Computer Science) or at least timely completion
• Experience in developing (web-based) GIS applications (or dashboards), understanding of web application architecture
• Knowledge in the areas of geodatabases (including PostgreSQL/PostGIS) and/or programming (Python, Javascript) as well as server technologies#
• Interest in solutions for future-oriented energy supply and mobility
• Independent conceptual and solution-oriented work
• Creative implementation skills
• Team spirit

These skills are also an advantage:

• Experience in using GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and in data simulation/data analytics
• Research Experience in the Spatially Discrete Modelling of Complex Process Chains
• Research and Project Experience (FFG/International Programs)
• Networked, Transdisciplinary Thinking and Task Mobility

In the iSpace Research Studio, you will develop innovative planning tools using spatial analytical methods and web-based analysis frameworks. You work in an interdisciplinary man, in a team of experienced, committed employees at the interface between applied research and knowledge transfer.
