About us
The Ministry of the Interior, Municipal Affairs, Housing and Sport has more than 500 employees working in various areas of responsibility, which are divided into seven departments. In addition to General Department 1, which deals with issues of internal organization, personnel administration and basic legal issues, there are a further six specialist departments: Department of Civil Protection and Regulatory Law (Department 2), Municipal Department (Department 3), Police Department (Department 4), Construction and Housing (Department 5), Regional Planning (Department 6) and Protection of the Constitution (Department 7).
The advertised job is located in Department IV 6 “Regional Planning”, which is divided into five departments with around 40 employees:
- Regional development and spatial information
- Spatial Development Funding, Hamburg Metropolitan Region
- Regional development and planning
- Legal Affairs, Energy Transition
- wind energy planning
The central task of the department is to coordinate and define the different requirements for the entire area of Schleswig-Holstein and its sub-areas through spatial planning plans. Among other things, the regional plans for the three planning areas are currently being redrawn. In addition, the spatial planning plans on the topic of onshore wind energy and the advisory decree on the planning of large-scale solar open-space systems in outdoor areas are to be updated.
Your tasks
- Participation in the preparation of spatial planning plans (in particular regional plans), in this case: editing of main and thematic maps
- Analysis and preparation of spatially relevant data for regional planning tasks using geographical information systems (GIS) and digital cartography
- Combining spatially relevant plans and measures in the spatial planning information system (ROIS)
That's what you bring with you
- Required qualification: Engineer (m/f/d) — Dipl.-Ing. (FH)/B.Sc., specializing in cartography/ geomedia/geoinformatics; geographer (m/f/d) (B.Sc.)
- Profound knowledge of using geoinformation systems, in particular with ESRI ArcGIS Pro, QGIS; graphics programs, in particular Adobe Illustrator
- Basic cartographic knowledge
- Basic knowledge of ISO standards (metadata, GML)/OGC standards (WMS, WMTS, WFS) and graphics formats
- Basic knowledge of basic geodata and geotechnical data and their processing
- High level of work commitment/motivation/distinctive work care/self-initiative

- Knowledge in the area of data analysis and visualization
- Safe use of Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of public administration work processes
- English language skills
