IT Project Manager (m/f/d)

We are the Federal Office for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG) and ensure that federal institutions, such as the Federal Police and Technical Relief Agency, are constantly supplied with reliable, up-to-date geodata and solutions. With more than 380 employees, we make an important contribution to overcoming the enormous challenges in the areas of environment, climate, safety, transport and spatial planning and are constantly promoting geodigitization within the federal government.

With the ADV Test Suite software, it is easy to check whether the official basic geodata of the AdV meets the uniform criteria nationwide and whether it complies with existing specifications. As head of the ADV Test Suite Technical Operations Office, you are responsible for the operation and development of the software. To this end, you will design, coordinate and project the necessary software development work and commission external service providers to carry out maintenance and development work.

Your tasks:

  • Responsibility for the operation and development of web-based software for carrying out automated tests
  • Management of smooth operation of the application in compliance with service level agreements (SLA)
  • Support for the technical implementation of technical requirements as part of change management in cooperation with internal and external service providers
  • Coordination and project planning of required software development work
  • Conceptual support, commissioning and management of external service providers for maintenance and further development work
  • Presentation of the application in specialist groups
  • Collaboration in designing and setting up the underlying IT infrastructure

You bring with you:

  • Completed university degree (university diploma, master) in the field of geoinformatics, computer science or a comparable course of study
  • Experience in operating and developing web-based applications
  • Demonstrable experience in project management and project execution
  • Knowledge of web-based software systems and architectures as well as digital infrastructures, in particular cloud technologies
  • Knowledge of using LINUX and open-source based development tools and frameworks such as Git, Docker, Jenkins is an advantage
  • Experience in commissioning software development work is desirable
  • Good communication skills and targeted work organization
  • Personal initiative and willingness to represent one's own area of responsibility
  • Ability to work in a team and flexibility in the performance of tasks
  • Very good written and oral expression skills in the German language
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
