Your main tasks

  • Head of Department
  • Development of optimized methods for geodata analysis based on the latest state of science and technology
  • Development of remote sensing methods and techniques with a focus on satellite remote sensing and 3D processes
  • Modelling Ecosystem Services
  • Organization and Collaboration with Internal and External Project Partners
  • Professional Support for Interns, Trainee Lawyers and Academic Theses
  • Participation in specialist working groups at state and federal level
  • Promoting equal opportunities for women and men

Your profile

Prerequisites

  • Completed relevant scientific higher education, preferably in geosciences, environmental sciences, forest sciences or comparable fields
  • Very good knowledge of ESRI products, in particular ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro and their extensions
  • Very good knowledge of ERDAS IMAGINE
  • Thorough Knowledge and Experience in Using Oracle Databases (including SQL)
  • Safe use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge and Experience in Ecosystem Modelling
  • In-depth knowledge of the state of scientific research in the areas of remote sensing and geodata analysis in the areas of forest remote sensing and geodata analysis
  • Knowledge of FME desktop from SAFE Software and ATCOR workflow from. Geosystems are an advantage

The position is with grade A13 (HD) Or a comparable pay bracket from TV-Hessen; and, in the course of any future task changes, offers an opportunity to develop into Bes. Group A 14 or a comparable pay bracket from TV-Hessen. Insofar as the corresponding factual and personal requirements/qualifications for this classification are not met, it is intended to initially delegate tasks to a lower grade/pay group.

Employees who have not yet reached this pay grade or grade may only be regrouped or promoted after the requirements of budgetary, tariff and civil service law have been met.

In Principle, Employment at the HessenForst State Company is exclusively for people with a completed career examination of the upper or higher forest service as a civil servant. All other persons are hired on a collective basis (TV-H).
It is generally possible to transfer applicants from other departments who are already in a civil service relationship with the State of Hesse.
